Misconduct

Simone Busby was found to have committed an act or omission that falls short of the standards reasonably expected of her, including but not limited to those matters listed in the Code of Professional Ethics, which brings, or is likely to bring, discredit to her, the accountancy profession or AAT; namely:

  1. On 19 February 2024, she was convicted in East Kent Magistrates’ Court of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress, contrary to sections 5(1) and 6 of the Public Order Act 1986.

Finding

Grounds for disciplinary action existed and the matter was suitable for exercise of Professional Standards’ powers under the Disciplinary Regulations.

Order

Simone Busby is hereby:

  1. Fined £500.00
  2. Severely Reprimanded for a period of three years (36 months).

Consent

Simone Busby has agreed to submit to the decision of Professional Standards in accordance with Regulation 5.3 of the Disciplinary Regulations.
