AAT licensed membership
You can apply to reinstate your licence within 12 months of your renewal due date.
- If you have held an AAT licence within the last 12 months you'll need to complete the AAT licensed member reinstatement application form.
- If you haven't held a licence for 12 months or more you'll need to apply for a new licence.
If you're unsure whether you need to reinstate or apply for a new licence please contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
Fee
The fee, whether reinstating or applying for a new licence, is £57.
You'll also need to pay the annual licence fee.
If you're an existing AAT full, bookkeeping, fellow or affiliate member this will be a pro rata amount to your next renewal. For example, if your existing membership renewal is due six months after your licence approval, you'll pay a pro rata licence fee for six months, meaning 50% of the full licence fee.
If you're not an existing AAT member you'll need to pay the full annual licence fee:
- Licensed Bookkeepers: £179
- Licensed Accountants: £341.
We're unable to reinstate your licence until payment has been received. Payment cannot be made by Direct Debit.
Student membership
If you registered on an AAT qualification before 1 September 2022 and have a lapsed student membership, you can no longer reinstate it.
Register on the equivalent level under the current syllabus, Qualifications 2022, to continue your studies:
Affiliate membership
We no longer offer affiliate membership.
If your affiliate membership has lapsed and you’d like to rejoin AAT, apply to become either an AAT bookkeeping member (AATQB) or full member (MAAT).
Refunds
The fee for registering or reinstating as a student member of AAT is non-refundable. The fee for applying or reinstating for full or fellow membership is also non-refundable. For more information see the AAT refunds policy.
