Misconduct

Mandy Cooper was found to have committed an act or omission that falls short of the standards reasonably expected of her, including but not limited to those matters listed in the Code of Professional Ethics, which brings, or is likely to bring, discredit to the member, the accountancy profession or AAT; namely:

  1. Between on or around 05 February 2018 and on or around 11 December 2023, she provided self-employed accountancy or related services to the public whilst not licensed or approved to provide such services whilst subject to a licence exemption.

Finding

Grounds for disciplinary action existed and the matter was suitable for exercise of the Investigations Team's powers under the Disciplinary Regulations.

Order

Mandy Cooper is hereby:

  1. Fined £1,000.00
  2. Reprimanded, with the reprimand remaining live on her record for a period of two years (24 months).
  3. Removed from AAT fellow membership (FMAAT) for a period of two years (24 months).

Consent

Mandy Cooper has agreed to submit to the decision of the Investigations Team in accordance with Regulation 5.3 of the Disciplinary Regulations.
