Misconduct

Joanne Sagar’s conduct was found to be in breach of the Code of Professional Ethics and to have posed a risk to the public and/or undermine public confidence in the Association and its members as follows:

  1. Between on or around 21 January 2020 to 24 December 2020, whilst employed by [Firm X] as a cashier, she abused her position by misappropriating £27,530 from [Firm X]
  2. On 27 June 2022, she became subject to a finding from another professional body with respect to her conduct as cited in Allegation 1 above
  3. She failed to notify AAT of the finding cited in Allegation 2 above within 30-days of its occurrence. 

Finding

Grounds for disciplinary action existed and the matter was suitable for exercise of the Investigations Team's powers under the Disciplinary Regulations.

Order

Joanne Sagar is hereby:

  1. Expelled from AAT
  2. Warned about her future conduct. 

Consent

Joanne Sagar passively consented to the decision of the Investigations Team in accordance with Regulation 5.3 of the Disciplinary Regulations 2024.
