Misconduct

Amer Usman’s professional or personal conduct, was found to be in breach of the Code of Professional Ethics and to have posed a risk to the public or was likely to undermine public confidence in the Association or its members; namely: 

1. On or around 16 April 2023, he provided a misleading statement within his MAAT application, in respect to a question concerning having a disciplinary sanction from another professional body or regulator.  

2. On or around 22 December 2023, whilst a full member of AAT, he provided a misleading statement within his AAT Licensed Accountant application, in respect to a question concerning having a disciplinary sanction from another professional body or regulator. 

Finding

Grounds for disciplinary action existed and the matter was suitable for exercise of the Investigations team's powers under the Disciplinary Regulations.

Order

Amer Usman is hereby: 

i. Expelled from AAT for 4 years. 

Consent

Amer Usman agreed to submit to the decision of the Investigations Team in accordance with Regulation 6 of the Disciplinary Regulations.
