Recently-elected AAT President Michael Steed and Vice-President Lucy Cohen have a holiday message for all AAT members, students and supporters as 2024 draws to a close:

Season's Greetings to all who make up our unique AAT community and to our wonderful partners and supporters - training providers, employer partners and international colleagues included.

It's been a big year for accountants and bookkeepers, and for many of those studying to join us.

Despite new challenges and rising pressures across a number of fronts, AAT students and professional members have nonetheless made a real difference in 2024.

Whether it has seen them making strides in their studies or CPD, or in creating positive impact for their clients and colleagues through the essential work that they do: our efforts count.

And they counted this year more than ever, as AAT members were on the front line of implementing not one - but two- budgets issued by successive governments. Each at pace. Each with their own major payroll and tax implications affecting millions of small businesses and PAYE earners in the UK.

In whatever way you made a difference in 2024, to push yourself or others forward: well done. Thank you. Now you can enjoy some well-earned rest.

Wishing you a safe and restful holiday period and a very Happy New Year.

— Michael, Lucy and the whole AAT family.
